Auto Injuries

Being in a car accident can wreak havoc in all areas of your life. On top of being injured, you may have multiple doctors appointments, meetings with your insurance company, taking your car to the auto body shop, dealing with the rental car agency, obtaining an attorney, and being unable to perform daily tasks such as; brushing your teeth, vacuuming or even sleeping. You may even be missing work and unable to participate in family functions– I get it, I have been there.

I have been rear-ended twice and I know what it’s like going through the process. I remember feeling painful muscles in my body that I had only ever seen in books.  I remember the frustration with all of the appointments and just wanting it to be over already. This is why I have the goal of  “effective outcome-driven results in less time”. I want to be as effective as possible in the least amount of time so that you can get back to feeling good and living your life again.

I have been working on auto-accident injuries since 2004. Massage can aid in the reduction of pain, swelling, scar tissue and stress. Massage can also address issues of immobility and strain, such as whiplash.

Typically with soft-tissue injuries, the sooner you receive manual therapy after an accident, the better. Waiting for weeks or months can cause you more pain in the long run. As your body heals, scar tissue forms, mobility gets restricted and chronic pain can set in. If you wait months for treatment you can expect the manual therapy to go on for longer and for results to come much slower.

In addition to specializing in soft-tissue injuries I also handle the billing of your auto insurance, Medical Pay (MedPay) for massage therapy. Most other massage therapists in the area do not bill your car insurance (MedPay).

If you do not have MedPay you have the option of paying out-of-pocket and submitting your receipts to the insurance company or your attorney for reimbursement once your claim settles.

My treatments are outcome-based and require a prescription from your doctor, naturopath, chiropractor, nurse practitioner or urgent care clinic. Most doctors will be glad to give you a prescription for massage following an accident or injury. If you have already seen your doctor since the accident, you can often times call their office and ask for a prescription for massage without being seen again.

If you’d like to expedite the process, please print this Medical Massage Prescription form and have your doctor fill it out. You can then have them either fax it to my office at 520.448.0819 or bring it in with you on your first visit. They also are free to use their own prescription form, it just needs to include the diagnosis code(s) and frequency/duration of massage treatment prescribed.
